DVD and Video Lending to NZAC Members Only

We are currently running a lending system for a growing collection of DVDs (and a few old videos) held in our library collection.

Items are only available to New Zealand Alpine Club members.

They are being lent out for a refundable bond of $10 each. For an extra non-refundable $10 we can courier items to you and include a return courier package.

The list is quite small at the moment, but we hope to purchase more DVDs as funds are raised from Movie Nights held in the National Office from time to time.

The Mueller & Tasman Glaciers

With commentary by Frank Drewett this DVD is a transfer from 16mm film of 1929 home movie footage. While only 11 minutes long, it is still a very interesting snapshot of the time. Some of the people who appear in the footage are Mick Bowie, Alf Brista, Ward Allen, Elsie Mackie, Douglas Nash, Allen Kirk and Frank Drewett. It also shows the dogs of the Bird Expedition, that later went to the Pole, undergoing training around the Hermitage where they were stationed. There are also many shots of skiing around the glaciers and Mueller Hut.
