HONORARY SECRETARY: Helen Wilton will be stepping down in May 2012, hence we need a replacement pronto! See the Position Description (46kb, PDF) for further information, and then contact Sam Newton.

HONORARY TREASURER: After more than 5 years in the role, Gillian Crombie has decided to step down in May 2012. See the Position Description (47kb, PDF) for further information, and then contact Sam Newton.

NATIONAL OFFICE: We always have a variety of fun admin things that we need help with at the Home of Mountaineering. Currently we need help with the upstairs library, filing, checking guidebooks, and tidying our storage room.

HUTS: At the moment we have a number of hut projects on the go. Unwin Lodge has recently been substantially improved and redeveloped, and a number of small and large jobs still remain. Whangaehu Hut and Ruapehu Hut are undergoing maintenance and refurbishment. If you’ve got some basic carpentry, painting or building skills, we could use your help at these huts before winter 2012 sets in.

A special note re Ruapehu Hut - this hut will remain closed until we replace the existing septic tank, which has proved to be a very difficult project to find Club members to help with. Hence, our Huts team are now *URGENTLY* looking for a suitably experienced builders or engineers to help lead the project to replace the existing septic tank system with a new vault-type system. If you think you can help, please contact Sam Newton.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: This committee meets on a monthly basis, and makes many important decisions relating to the national activities of the Club. It's  primary focus is to oversee the work of National Office. We are currently looking for two volunteers to join the committee, who ideally have an interest in Club activities, and a willingness to volunteer a couple of hours per month. Some prior involement with NZAC would be helpful, as would a healthy appetite for pizza!

Contact Sam Newton, NZAC General Manager for more details.
