The 70th Issue Climber - Creative Writing Competition
To celebrate the 70th edition of The Climber, Macpac and the NZAC hosted a Creative Writing Short Story Competition
open to all readers of the magazine. The winning entries were
announced and published in The Climber edition 71. Stories could be
either fiction or non-fiction, but an additional award was to be given to
the best pure fiction piece received.
1st Prize was a Macpac Sundowner 600 loft down jacket
Winner: Ticked by Esther Packard Hill (14kb) (also winner of the special prize for best fiction piece - a copy of Colin Monteath's book 'Under a Sheltering Sky'
2nd Prize was a Macpac Balfour windproof fleece
