Location
In the West Matukituki Valley on the banks of Cascade Stream, Mount Aspiring National Park

 

Facilities
38 bunks, wood stove, gas cookers, common room, water tank and flush toilets. Hut warden in residence during summer.

Access
2 hours from Matukituki Valley road end over open river flats.

Booking
No booking of the hut is possible.

Fees
NZAC Members $10. Non members $20 per night during winter (May - Sept), or $25 per night during summer (Oct - April). Youth rate (11 - 17 years) is half the adult rate.  Children (10 years or less) free. Hut fees payable to the Hut Warden when in residence during summer, or at the Department of Conservation office in Wanaka. (Who also have a drop box available for out of hours payments)

Note
DOC Wanaka sells special tickets for Aspiring Hut. If however, you are unable to get these for some reason, e.g. arrive too late/early and the office is closed, or are unable to use the drop box, then you can pay all fees at the DOC office in Dunedin as an alternative.
