Unwin Lodge is the flagship of the NZAC hut network. This newly rebuilt lodge sits at the entrance to Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, and is the perfect base for everything from family day trips to the glaciers to adventures on New Zealand’s highest peaks.
State Highway 80, Pukaki–Mt Cook Road, 3km before Aoraki Mt Cook Village
48 bunks, family units for members, potable mountain water on tap, modern toilets and showers, electricity, kitchen, stoves and utensils, drying room, washing machine ($2 per wash), dining and common area with woodburner heater, Glasgow-Scott Library for members, telephone (03) 435 1840 (toll barred), WiFi internet access ($5 voucher for 50mb, or purchase time via Zenbu Credit at the Lodge).
The road entrance is clearly marked from state highway 80. Please park behind the Lodge. Shuttle transport to Unwin from Lake Tekapo, Twizel and Mount Cook Village can be arranged with The Cook Connection or phone 0800 26 65 26.
All fees are payable to the managers on site. If they are not available, fees may be posted to NZAC National Office, PO Box 786, Christchurch 8140.

- Member $15.00/night - June to September inclusive
- Non-member $30.00/night - year-round
- Member and non-members' children under 5yrs - free
- Members' children (5-18yrs) - $5.00
- Non-members' children (5-11 yrs) $12.50/night
- Non-members' children (12-18 yrs) $15.00/night
- Member day-use of Lodge facilities $10.00
- Shower use only $5.00

School and club groups are welcome but you need to book in advance.

These events may reduce available bunks for some or all of the event. Please check with the Lodge Managers when booking.
