Westland National Park Huts
Built to commemorate the centennial of the New Zealand Alpine Club, Centennial Hut is sited at the head of the Franz Joseph Glacier with a stunning view across the glacier to the Tasman Sea. Access is normally by plane or from Pioneer Hut.
Pioneer Hut provides a base for climbing objectives on the western side of the high peaks of the Main Divide. Access is normally by air due to the difficulties of travel up the Fox Glacier.
Sited on the corner of Cook Flat and Kerrs Roads in Fox Glacier Township, Porter Lodge is ideally placed as a base for climbers, ski tourers and trampers visiting South Westland.
