Information on Climbing Charter Rates

  • Often able to organise backflights for people that may result in significant savings on the advertised prices. These situations should however always be treated as a bonus rather than relied upon.
  • They operate two types of helicopter: Hughes 500's, which take up to 3 passengers and their gear and Squirrel AS350's that take up to 4 passengers and gear (or on a short light-weight trip, up to 5 passengers and gear). Prices for the Hughes are considerably less than the Squirrel.
  • The company has a policy whereby bookings for climbing charters are treated equally with all other bookings. In other words, we don't ditch climbing charters when more profitable scenic work comes along.
  • There are only three companies licensed to do this type of work in Westland National Park. Other operators are not permitted to land within the National Park. The other two operators are listed on the main Information page.
