We're all set to go for the Club AGM on Friday 4 November, which promises to be another great entertainment experience. This year our star-studded panel features:

  • Yvonne Pfluger- mountaineer, expeditioner and explorer of China
  • Jamie Vinton-Boot - leading kiwi climber
  • Graham Charles - seasoned expeditioner and member of Adventure Philosophy team
  • Marty Schmidt - NZ's leading 8000m climber
  • Chris North - Canterbury University lecturer and Leave No Trace guru
  • Richard Wesley - backcountry huts fanatic and aspiring Green Party candidate for Wigram.

The topic of debate will be:

"Where are climbing expeditions going in the next 10 years"

What is the latest and greatest climbing area overseas? What does climbing overseas offer that is not readily on tap in NZ? Can the ambitious kiwi climber sustain themselves on local adventures only? What are our ethical and environmental responsibilities?

You'll have to be there from 7pm at the Cashmere Club (Colombo St, Christchurch) to hear the answers to these questions and more... don't miss out!
