Rob Brown
Rob Brown is a noted Christchurch photographer who has been tramping, climbing and skiing in the New Zealand backcountry for over fifteen years. His interest in photography came about from his early experiences in the New Zealand mountains while at university. In 1999 he co-authored his first book Classic Tramping in New Zealand with long time friend and fellow tramper Shaun Barnett which went on to win the environment section of the 2000 Montana Book Awards. Since 2001 he has run his own photography business and his photographs have regularly featured in a wide range of books, magazines and calendars. His latest book, Rakiura: the Wilderness of Stewart Island, was published in 2006. He lives in Lyttelton.
Dean Mackenzie
Christchurch-based photographer Dean Mackenzie loves to indulge in all the wonderful things in life, especially creating images. Dean has worked as a commercial photographer since 2004. He shoots advertising and editorial assignments for New Zealand and overseas clients, and was recently awarded the Epson NZIPP Photographer of the Year award for 2007. He used to climb, but finds drinking coffee and talking about it way less stressful. Dean currently lives in Lyttleton with his wife Vanessa, and their dog Sally.
Colin Monteath
Based in Christchurch, Colin Monteath is a polar and mountain photographer and writer who is passionate about wild places and expedition travel. He has undertaken numerous photographic and magazine assignments over the years and in 1983 founded his own photography and cataloguing business, Hedgehog House. Colin has been an active mountaineer for 40 years and is a Life Member of the New Zealand Alpine Club. Colin is regularly involved in book projects, contributing images and chapters of text to guide books, trekking books and pictorial books on the polar and mountain regions.
