Section Representative
Represent the section at national meetings and work on a National Committee(s):
- Prepare Section Reports for presentation at each meeting of the national Club Committee. This report should be prepared in conjunction with the Section Chairperson and other portfolio holders.
- Attend all meetings of national Club Committee and prepare for such meetings by ensuring that the Section has considered and advised their representatives in advance on any issues that need to be raised.
- Represent both the Section's interests and the overall interests of the NZAC nationally at the meetings of national Club Committee. The Section Representatives are expected to vote on issues as directed by the Section if these have been made clear.
- Act as point of contact within the Section for any correspondence arising out affairs of the national executive. Matters arising from this should be reported upon at Section Committee or if applicable Section meetings, or newsletter.
- Representatives may find it useful to communicate with national executive members informally as well as in national Club Committee.
- Section Representatives may also be allocated additional responsibilities by national Club Committee outside those of the Section eg. presiding on a special national committee.
- Keep all correspondence, documents and other material related to this position filed neatly together. Hand these on and brief the next person holding this position.
- The position of Section Representatives does not need to be dedicated to discrete persons on committee but rather can be held by other already elected officers. Good communication between Section and the National Office can be maintained if the Section Representative is the current Section Chairperson.
