Back to all Back

As I mentioned last week in the President’s newsletter, our General Manager Keith Gilby has resigned in order to focus on his growing Asset Management and Off Grid consultancy business.  We thank Keith for his enthusiasm and passion and regretfully accept his decision.

The NZAC currently has advertisements on social media, Seek and Trade Me.
In addition, I am asking for your assistance in spreading the word.  Can you please act on our behalf and pass on the information about the General Manager position to anyone you think might be interested and appropriate.  Although applications close on 9 September we can always consider the right person a few days later.

The role is Christchurch-based and operates from the Club’s Home of Mountaineering. Working with a staff of 4, the role deals with the day to day running of a club that has an annual turnover in excess of $1,300,000.  Our network of 18 huts, an active national instruction programme and the acclaimed Banff Mountain Film Festival illustrate the breadth of the role. In recent years, the NZAC has grown as a significant leader in many aspects of the outdoor community and partners with organisations such as DoC, Sport NZ, FMC and MSC.

The continued success of the NZAC is driven by great staff and strong governance and leadership.  If you can help us identify a good candidate for the General Manager role, the club will continue to deliver great service and provide strong leadership in this sector.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss.
