We had many high quality images entered in to the 2018 NZAC Photographic Competition. The judges had a tough time deciding on the winners from the 362 photos entered but we are pleased to announce the final results. Congratulations to Adam Gearing the 2018 Overall Champion winner for his photo Dusk.
The next issue of The Climber magazine will feature the images in all their glory accompanied by the judges’ comments. We will also be publishing the 2019 NZAC Calendar which will feature images entered from the competition and this will be available for purchase on the NZAC online shop soon. Keep an eye out in the NZAC monthly e-newsletter for the update of when the calendar will be available for purchase.
The Egmont-Tasman Trophy is awarded to the Australia section this year as they are the section with the most winner points. Close behind was the Canterbury Westland and Wellington Sections.
Thanks to all who entered, we have many talented photographers in our midst, and thanks to our wonderful judges Simon Waterhouse, Lee Howell and Dennis Radermacher. And thanks to the sponsors Therm-a-Rest, MSR, Alpine Recreation, Flock Hill Station, Peak Design, Scarpa, Potton and Burton and GU for providing some fantastic prizes!
