Every year more and more people are being introduced to rock climbing through NZAC courses.
NZAC ROCK CLIMBING COURSES
For many local sections, rock climbing courses are the highlight of the summer season. If you are ready to try this exciting sport, we’d love to show you how!
More experienced climbers have the chance to take their lead climbing skills to the next level with our Multi-Pitch & Transitions Course.
Club Sections Summer Instruction Courses
Many of our Club Sections offer a range of instruction courses from bouldering, top rope, sport leading, traditional leading and rope rescue for those wanting to learn core rock climbing skills. Courses are delivered by a mix of experienced volunteer club members and qualified professional instructors. Most section courses require you to live locally and be a member of the local section to attend. These are advertised in the monthly section newsletter and on the NZAC Section Facebook pages.Go to Club Section pages
National Youth Rock Camp
This epic camp is for young climbers who wish to take their climbing to the next level outdoors and progress towards climbing independently. Top professional instructors volunteer their time every year to help keen youth to learn rock skills safely.
The age range we feel would most benefit from this opportunity would be 11 – 15 years old. There is a minimum age limit of 13 for belaying outdoors, so priority would be given to the older climbers in this range.
