CO Section - Intermediate Snowcraft Course
Intermediate Snowcraft Course **COURSE FULL**
Central Otago Section
This course will cover techniques for travel on steeper ground - ie using two tools, setting up snow anchors and abseiling, basic belaying and leading on snow and will be run by a Professional Guide. You must have logged some alpine experience, eg Grade 1 Alpine climbs or Transalpine Trips, have attended an Avalanche Awareness Course, and be a competent abseiler to attend this course.
The course will be run over two days - Sat/Sun in the Remarkables mountains, and will have a theory evening in the week before the course, which you must attend.
We have two weekends set aside - the 14th/15th September and the 28th/29th September. Maximum number of participants on each course is 4.
The cost will be $300 and all participants must be a current paid NZAC member with preference given to Central Otago Section members. More details, required gear list and registration info will be available in a couple of weeks - if you are interested, make sure you show it, so you get the updates through this event.
Please also see the document - "What course is for me?" in another post, showing the difference between the Beginners and Intermediate Snowcraft Courses.
Please find the link to the registration document below, which should give you all the information you need (and we need!) on the course. You must register here to apply to be on the course. We will come back to you in a couple of weeks once we have received and compiled all the regos.
