Otago Section - Tuesday Night Rock Climbing
Meet at Logan Park opposite the Teachers College at 5:15pm to choose which local crag to go to and arrange shared transport; then leave at 5:30pm sharp to make the most of the long evenings. Over the summer we try and visit as many of the local crags as possible, depending on the numbers and skill of those attending, and the weather forecast for the evening. Please check out the Facebook page for updates throughout the week and on the day.
These nights are open to all climbers (non-NZAC members are welcome!) who are keen to socialise and meet new people, or perhaps get a belay on some new climbs. All under 18 climbers must have a parent or guardian with them. They are ideal for those new to climbing in Dunedin, as they are a great introduction to the local crags and to others who like to get out on real rock.
Please note the purpose of the evenings is not for instruction - while experienced climbers are always on hand for advice, beginners should bring a competent friend to show them the ropes (as it were).
Gear hire for the evening is available for those who do not have their own, or who don't have a full kit. Gear hire is free for members. Contact Lindsay Smith for more information on 027 404 8911.
