NZAC SKIING & TOURING COURSES
The NZAC National Instruction Programme offers two courses that can give you the skills you need to get your skis into the backcountry.
Intro to Backcountry Skiing – South Island
Ready to start exploring New Zealand’s Backcountry Terrain? This course is for strong intermediate (or better) skiers with excellent aerobic fitness wanting to get a good grounding in ski touring so they can go experience the winter backcountry by themselves. Enjoy 4 days on the snow based from Mt Cheesemans Snowline Lodge
Women’s Backcountry Ski Skills Course
Looking to take your Backcountry Skiing to the next level? Based from the Mount Cheeseman Snowline Lodge, learn the skills to become an independent backcountry skier whilst enjoying some great snow. Perfect for women who have excellent aerobic fitness and are confident skiers.
Glacier Skiing Course
This course is for strong intermediate (or better) skiers ready to move on to glaciated terrain. Familiarity with basic ice axe and crampon use is required and can be learned on a NZAC Basic Snowcraft Course prior to the glacier skiing course.
