Trip Report – Mount Tasman

Arthur Collins, Rod Kirkwood and Hamish Dunn climbed Mount Tasman on March 9th via the North Shoulder route from a bivvy on Marcel Col. Marcel Col was accessed from the true left of the ice fall and the ice cliffs above Engineer Col were skirted by a narrow ramp heading out towards Syme Ridge.
Conditions were firm and it took about 4 1/2 hours from Marcel Col to the summit and slightly longer to descend.
As the weather was settled they spent another afternoon and night at Marcel Col then descended in good firm travel conditions to Pioneer.
