LOW WATER TANK LEVELS
Lack of rain has depleted the water available in the tanks at Homer Hut.
Water is available to collect from the river.
Please make sure you are adequately prepared for drinking water if you are heading to Homer.

Summary:
Surrounded on all sides by the towering mountains of the spectacular Fiordland National Park, this hut is an extremely popular climber's hangout. From this base, the world-class rock climbing, alpine climbing and mountaineering of the Darrans is on your doorstep.

Facilities:
24 bunks, 3 bunk rooms - 2 main rooms, 1 wardens' quarter, gas stoves, utensils, common room, water tank (untreated, rain run-off collection). Sorry no fridge as there is no electricity, but the hut has solar lighting and radio.
Note: The NZAC only supplies toilet/floor cleaner and cleaning cloths. Hut users are expected to supply their own toilet paper, cleaning products and t-towels.

Access:
By road via the Eglinton and Upper Hollyford Valleys, car access to within 200m of hut.
Bookings:
Bookings are required. Members only bookings during the high climbing season from December 8th 2024 to March 8th 2025. Outside of these dates non-members can book to stay at Homer Hut. Join the Club here.
Camping is allowed, but only in the immediate vicinity of the hut and for members only. Book a tent site here.
Warden resident during the summer months.
