Michaela Kiersch Climbs Dreamcatcher
Back in 2021, Paige Claasen and Michaela Kiersch made the first female ascents of Dreamcatcher (35/9a) in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. This famous route was established by Chris Sharma in 2005 and was the first free climbing on the steep underbelly of the Cacodemon Boulder, previously home only to aid climbers and those sheltering from the famous Squamish rain. Kiersch described the route as 'one of the most beautiful, historical, and challenging routes in North America.'
There is now a video showing Kiersch's successful ascent and, unlike the original Sharma climbing video of this route which was full of dynos, wild foot-free moves and many power screams, this footage shows elite climbing at it's most smooth and elegant.
